The manufacturer of a popular arrowroot biscuit is recalling several batches of the biscuits due to a potential health issue.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says Mondelez Canada is recalling packages of Mr. Christie’s Arrowroot Biscuits in various sizes.
The recall comes following reports of “potential off-taste” that have caused illnesses in an unspecified number of people.
It includes the following packages of Mr. Christie’s Arrowroot Biscuits, all of which are sold across Canada:
- 350-gram boxes (UPC 0 66721 01046 9) with best before dates of 2017 FE 24 and 2017 FE 28
- 1.4-kilogram boxes (UPC 0 66721 01856 4) with best before dates of 2017 FE 20, 2017 FE 21, 2017 FE 22 and 2017 FE 23
- 3.5-kilogram bulk boxes (UPC 1 00 66721 51038 6) with best before dates of 2017 AL 25
- 3.6-kilogram multi-pack boxes (UPC 1 00 66721 51404 9) with best before dates of 2017 AL 21 through 2017 MA 02, as well as 2017 MA 05 and 2017 MA 12
Anyone who has purchased any of those biscuits should not consume them. Instead, the CFIA says, they should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
Anyone who has eaten the biscuits and thinks they may have become sick as a result should consult their doctor.
