Three people are in custody and a fourth at large following an armed robbery at a Kitchener restaurant.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to the McDonald’s on Homer Watson Boulevard near Conestoga College Boulevard.
Four people had allegedly entered the restaurant with weapons.
No shots were fired, no injuries were reported, and the group got away with cash.
Following a search of the area that included the use of police dogs, Waterloo Regional Police say, three people were taken into custody.
They include two men named Musa Fofana and Tariq Yasin, and one boy whose name cannot be published under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All three appeared in court Tuesday, and were ordered to remain in custody until Friday.
Police officers spent much of Tuesday searching the area around the McDonald’s for any sign of a fourth suspect.
Police say they haven’t connected the robbery to a spate of recent convenience store robberies in various locations around Kitchener, but are searching for any links or similarities.
In three cases since the start of the month, convenience stores were robbed by three masked men brandishing a firearm.
