There will be no preliminary hearing for the three people facing charges in connection with the death of Tim Bosma.

Deepak Paradkar, the lawyer representing Dellen Millard, confirmed Tuesday night to CTV News that the case would proceed directly to trial.

Direct indictments are rare in Ontario, and Paradkar said he felt its approval here would make it harder for the defence to discover the Crown’s case.

“This is not such an exceptional case that calls for resort to such an extraordinary departure from the normal procedure that is afforded to almost all others facing serious criminal charges,” he said.

Mllard and Mark Smich are each charged with first-degree murder in the death of Bosma, who disappeared in 2013 after taking two men on a test-drive of a truck he was selling.

His burned remains were later found at a farm property owned by Millard on Roseville Road in North Dumfries.

Christina Noudga is charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact.

Police say she was Millard’s girlfriend at the time of Bosma’s death.

Millard also faces charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his father Wayne Millard and Toronto woman Laura Babcock.
