LONDON, Ont. - Police in London, Ont., say seven more people are facing criminal charges in the wake of an alcohol-fuelled riot on St. Patrick's Day.
Investigators say the new arrests bring to 19 the number of people facing a total of 42 criminal charges and more arrests are expected. Another three people are charged with Liquor Licence Act offences.
Twenty-two police cars were damaged and a news vehicle belonging to CTV was torched as hundreds of intoxicated St. Patrick's Day revellers attacked police and firefighters.
Const. Dennis Rivest says some of the new charges are related to the destruction of the CTV vehicle.
Eight of those facing criminal charges are Fanshawe College students who have been suspended and face expulsion if they are convicted.
Investigators are currently following up on more than 250 tips received through various sources.
Photographs of people who have not been identified will soon be made available to the public, Rivest said Friday.
