WOODSTOCK -- Police in Woodstock say three officers have been injured in an altercation with a man in a hospital.
Police say officers were sent late Thursday night to investigate a report from a concerned citizen about a man sleeping in a doorway.
Police say the man appeared to be intoxicated and the officers had a difficult time waking him up.
Once he did wake up he was aggressive and was punching the ground and banging his head on the sidewalk, so the officers called for an ambulance.
While at the hospital, police say the 24-year-old man became aggressive and three officers sustained minor injuries.
