A pickup truck was engulfed in flames along Highway 401 on Monday.

The vehicle fire happened around 3:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes approaching the Highway 6 north exit.

Plumes of thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky.

Fire officials say the flames started a grass fire nearby.

No injuries were reported.
