OPP are reporting another round of road and highway closures in the Grey-Bruce area due to more winter weather passing through.
In many locations, OPP say, collisions and stranded vehicles are tying up police resources as blowing snow, high winds and low visibility batter the area.
As of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, roads reported closed include:
- All roads on the Bruce Peninsula
- Highway 9 from Kincardine to Walkerton
- Highway 21 from Southampton north
- Highway 26 from Grey Road 5 to the 7th Line
- Bruce County Road 3 from Highway 21 to Mildmay
- Bruce County Road 86 from Amberley to Lucknow
- Grey-Bruce Line from Highway 21 to Grey Road 25 (Scone)
- Grey Road 1 from Owen Sound to Wiarton
- Grey Road 3 from Highway 21 to Grey Road 25
- Grey Road 5 from Owen Sound to Grey-Bruce Townline
- Grey Road 7 from Meaford to Grey Road 13 (Kimberley)
- Grey Road 11 from Highway 26 to Grey Road 18
- Grey Road 15 from Owen Sound to Highway 26
- Grey Road 16 from Grey-Bruce Line to Highway 6/10
- Grey Road 17
- Grey Road 17A
- Grey Road 17B
- Grey Road 170
- Grey Road 18 from Highway 21 to Grey Road 29
- Grey Road 40 from Highway 6 to Grey-Bruce Townline
A snow squall watch remains in effect as of 7:30 p.m. for southern Bruce County, all of Grey County and areas up through Midland, Orillia, Bracebridge and Port Carling.
Environment Canada says squalls may develop during the early evening hours over Lake Huron and tonight over Georgian Bay.
Northern Bruce County, including Sauble Beach, Tobermory and the Peninsula, is under a snow squall warning as of 7:30 p.m.
Also in effect as of 7:30 p.m. is a wind chill warning for most of southern Ontario including Waterloo-Wellington, Huron-Perth, Oxford-Brant, Norfolk-Haldimand, Grey-Bruce and areas near Orangeville, London, Windsor, Niagara, Hamilton and Toronto.
In Waterloo Region and the Guelph area, forecasts call for an afternoon high of -16 C, although wind chill will make it feel more like -31.
Flurries are possible through the day, with temperatures dropping to -23 C – -36 with wind chill – overnight.
Forecasts for Wednesday show a small amount of snow accumulating through the day, with localized blowing snow and a high of -12 C.
