Police say they’ve finished their search of a townhouse where a man was found dead of stab wounds.

Tara Koiter, 32, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of her common-law partner, John Liggins.

Liggins was found dead Saturday morning, after police were called to a residence on Sympatica Crescent.

A search warrant was granted Tuesday, allowing detectives to enter the building.

Brantford Police said Friday that they had wrapped up their investigation on Sympatica, with a knife and a number of other items being sent to Toronto for forensic analysis.

Two cats were also found inside. Police said both cats seemed to be OK, and were turned over to a family friend.

Koiter remains in custody, with her next court appearance scheduled for Feb. 16.
