Two busy roads in Waterloo will be closed to vehicles for part of the week as construction season ramps up.

The section of Bearinger Road at the rail tracks, between Albert Street and Parkside Drive, will close at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

It’s expected to reopen at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The recommended detour for drivers is along Albert, Weber Street and Parkside for eastbound traffic, and along Wes Graham Way, Hagey Boulevard, Columbia Street and Albert for westbound traffic.

After that, University Avenue will close at the rail tracks between Phillip Street and Seagram Drive.

University is expected to be closed from Friday morning through the weekend, opening late on May 9.

Phillip, Columbia and Westmount Road make up the suggested detour for drivers getting around that closure.
