The man stabbed to death in Brantford early Saturday morning has been identified as 44-year-old John Liggins.
Brantford Police say Liggins was in a common-law relationship with Tara Koiter, who has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with his death, and had been for the past six years.
Koiter was scheduled to appear in a Brantford courtroom Monday morning.
Police said Monday morning that they continue to await a search warrant that will allow them into the Sympatica Crescent home to look for evidence.
Until then, police will continue to guard the site.
