A careless driving charge has been laid after a milk truck rolled over west of St. Jacobs.

It happened around 10:15 a.m. Monday, on Broadway Street near Temperance Road just outside Hawkesville.

According to Sgt. Frank Heinrich of Waterloo Regional Police, the truck’s driver “failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing the truck to roll over onto its passenger side.”

The driver of the truck, a 59-year-old man from Waterloo, was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

While the truck was carrying milk at the time, none of it spilled onto the roadway.

Broadway was closed in the area for about four hours following the collision.
