A woman who died after her car missed a curve in the road and flipped onto its roof in Perth County has been identified as a Mississauga resident.

Police say Joan Windeler, 86, was killed as a result of Monday afternoon’s crash.

She had been driving on Perth Line 56, and missed the curve at Perth Road 119 in Topping, southeast of Milverton.

According to police, her vehicle entered a grassy area, crossed Perth Road 119, hit a culvert and finally came to rest on its roof.

She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was later pronounced dead.

Roads in the area were closed for about six hours.

Police say they continue to investigate.
