A Guelph man faces three criminal charges following a collision that left another man with serious head injuries.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. Sunday, on Eagle Street in Cambridge, near Hespeler Road.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, a motorcycle and van were both travelling in the same direction on Eagle when the van started to make a U-turn from the right-hand lane – bringing it right into the path of the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition. As of Monday morning, his condition was said to be critical but stable.

The driver of the van, a 40-year-old man, faces charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, driving while disqualified and taking a vehicle without consent.
