The southbound flyover from the Conestoga Parkway to Highway 8 was closed for about two hours Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash.
It is believed a car slammed into a median safety barrel with enough force to dislodge an axle from the vehicle around 9:30 a.m.
A transport truck with Quebec license plates then drove over the loose axle.
Both drivers received undisclosed injuries.
The flyover was reopened to traffic shortly after 11:30 a.m.
