The victim of a hit-and-run crash in Huron County has died of his injuries.

The man was walking westbound on Amberley Road near Ramsay Line around 8:30 p.m. Monday when he was hit by a vehicle which then left the scene, leaving him lying on the road unconscious.

Taken to a London hospital with serious injuries, the 27-year-old died in hospital Tuesday afternoon.

OPP have identified him as Jordan Moorehead of Kitchener.

Family members describe Moorehead as a man with a big personality and an unmistakable laugh.

“Whoever did this, they ripped a big hole in our family,” uncle Paul Moorehead told CTV News.

Police continue to search for the vehicle involved in the crash.

They believe it was a heavy-duty pickup or utility truck which left a passenger-side mirror and broken glass at the scene of the crash.

The truck is also believed to have been heading westbound on Amberley, between Listowel and Wingham near the community of Bluevale.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
