Environment Canada has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in Sheffield Monday night.
The storm moved through the town just outside Cambridge at 10:30 p.m.
The tornado left a damage track about 150 metres wide and 1.5 km long.
An EF1 tornado can bring peak speeds of 150 km per hour.
The tornado damaged some homes, and even carried some aluminum bleachers from a local ballpark a few metres.
This is Ontario’s 19th tornado of the season. The average tornado season sees 12 tornados in Ontario.
