Hydro crews have been working around the clock to restore power to nearly 6,000 customers in an area of central Ontario bounded by Lake Ontario, Marmora and Pigeon Lake.

Last Thursday's ice storm brought down trees which took out power lines throughout southern central Ontario.

More than 40,000 customers throughout the province remained without power as of Sunday night.

Hydro One says it doesn't expect everyone to be back on line until late Monday night.
