Police have one man in custody after a 51-year-old man was murdered early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a disturbance call at 476 Ninth Avenue in Hanover. But when they arrived, things took a gruesome turn.

They discovered a body on the apartment floor. The deceased male victim appeared to have obvious signs of trauma.

"It's pretty scary... that it's right next door to where you're living," says Jerry Mitchell who lives beside building where the incident occurred.

"You usually know the people that are here, so you don't expect something like this to happen," he said.

The name of the victim is being withheld until he can be identified properly and his next of kin are notified.

Investigators say a male suspect in connection with the case fled the scene on foot. He escaped through a back alley prior to police arrival.

The 25-year old suspect who was considered armed and dangerous has now been captured by police.

OPP were brought in to aid in the investigation.

So far, no charges have been laid.
