One person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the neck in Waterloo Park.
Waterloo Regional Police were called to a section of the park near its tennis courts around 2 p.m. Sunday in response to the attack.
Ryan Aspinall, 21, was placed under arrest, to face a charge of attempted murder.
He made a brief court appearance Monday afternoon, and was then remanded back into custody until returning to court Wednesday.
Aspinall and the man who was stabbed knew each other prior to the incident, police said.
Parts of the park were cordoned off by police tape through the afternoon.
Police reported that the man’s condition had stabilized by Monday morning.
Anyone who was in the park around 2 p.m. Sunday is asked to contact police.
