MEAFORD, Ont. -- A second body has been recovered from the scene of a house fire in Meaford, east of Owen Sound.
Two people were unaccounted for after the fire Friday (on the 8th Concession North, between Highway 26 and Sideroad 22).
One body was found in the burned wreckage of the home on Monday and crews had been using heavy equipment in the search for the second missing person.
Provincial police say a post-mortem examination will be scheduled to help determine the identities of the victims.
However, police have said two people who were known to live in the home -- 59-year-old Urmas Aarne Polli and 51-year-old Denise Deborah Kelly -- remain unaccounted for.
Police are continuing to investigate, along with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office, but say the deaths are believed to be fire-related.
