Hours after his wife was killed, Clark Sauve told police officers that she had been shot by one of two masked women who had broken into their home.

Sauve is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the December 2014 death of his wife, Linda Sauve. He has pleaded not guilty.

On Monday, video of his interrogation was played at his trial.

The interrogation took place approximately eight hours after Linda Sauve was killed.

In the video, Sauve appears stoic to the point where a detective asked him why he seemed to be indifferent to his wife’s death. Sauve replied that he had never been a particularly emotional person.

Asked what happened, Sauve told investigators that two women broke into their home and shot his wife. Investigators said they had not seen any signs of forced entry at their Cambridge home.

Sauve said that he tried to fight them off from his bed by grabbing the barrel of their gun.

The Crown has argued that Sauve killed his wife in an attempted murder-suicide, but never ended up killing himself.
