One man was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Kitchener late Friday morning.
The altercation brought police to Lancaster Street West, near Arnold Street, around 11 a.m.
A forensics team marked off a section of grass and sidewalk, where some blood was visible.
“We’re not able to say just yet whether one or more people are responsible for the … assault,” said police spokesperson Olaf Heinzel, adding that police were “fairly confident” the attack was targeted.
As of 6 p.m. Friday, no arrests had been made.
“We’re doing everything we can right now to locate the individual or the people responsible for this incident,” Heinzel said.
