OPP have charged an off-duty police officer with shoplifting.
Police say they responded to a Talbot Street address in Leamington following a shoplifting complaint by a loss prevention officer on October 14.
The police investigation revealed the suspect was an off-duty OPP officer with the Chatham-Kent OPP Highway Safety Division.
Thirty-year-old Constable Nicole Mailloux has been charged with theft under $5,000.
Mailloux has been with the OPP for two years and has been placed on administrative duties.
She is scheduled for a court appearance on November 17, 2011.
