Guelph Police say that a hotel employee was the victim of a shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, Guelph police were called to the Comfort Inn Hotel on Silvercreek Parkway.  Officers were responding to reports of gunfire. 

A man suffering from gunshot wounds was discovered near the entrance of hotel.  EMS treated the man and transported him to Guelph General Hospital.  A short time later the man died of his injuries.  Police have identified the victim as Aly Sunderani, a 35-year-old employee of the hotel.

Police believe this incident was a targeted attack and there is no risk to the general public. Investigators are looking for a small black SUV that was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting.
