BlackBerry’s CEO is hitting back at an MPP who wants provincial politicians to be able to use non-BlackBerry devices for work purposes.
Last week, Etobicoke North MPP Shafiq Qaadri called Ontario’s BlackBerry-only policy “a valiant effort to buy Canadian,” then said it was “handicapping, retarding and penalizing MPPs” and presenting a petition calling for it to be changed.
In a blog post, John Chen slammed the Liberal MPP for using “offensive words that have no place in modern discourse” and for “insulting” BlackBerry.
“Shafiq Qaadri is wrong on so many levels,” he wrote, pointing to his company’s record on security and its use by officials of many major governments and companies.
