The biggest winner of all might be out of the province, but two local residents find themselves significantly richer today.
The $50-million grand prize in Friday night’s Lotto Max draw was won by a ticket-buyer from British Columbia.
There were also 50 $1-million jackpots on offer, 17 of which were awarded.
Tickets purchased in Kitchener, Brampton and Ottawa each won $1 million outright, while a Stratford-area ticket shares another of the jackpots with two others.
The other four $1-million jackpots were split two ways, with $500,000 winners including two tickets purchased in Mississauga and one each in Ottawa and Burlington.
Next Friday’s jackpot is estimated at $43 million.
