'It was an amazing moment': Guelph man wins $1M dollar lotto prize
A Guelph man is celebrating a $1 million lotto win.
Brian Moore won the Instant Millionaire Multiplier’s top prize after deciding to buy a ticket once he learned about the odds of winning.
“I was at home playing my ticket before I left for work. I checked it on the OLG app and immediately saw the ‘Big Winner’ message on the screen.” said Moore in an Instant OLG media release. “Astonishment washed over me. It was an amazing moment.”
Moore works in skilled trades and has been a regular OLG lottery player for decades.
He said after his wife double-checked his ticket on her phone, they celebrated with a big hug and a kiss.
“I’m so excited and grateful that a win came my way. I believe in doing good for others, and I’ve always wondered if it would come back to me. It’s like they say, ‘what goes around, comes around.’ Maybe it does!” Brian said.
Moore said he plans on spending the money on travelling with his wife and exploring Europe.
The winning ticket was bought at Little Short Stop on Willow Road in Guelph.
