Two influenza outbreaks which affected at least seven people at Grand River Hospital’s Freeport site have ended.
Hospital officials said Monday that an end to the outbreaks had been declared after all patients recovered from the flu.
The outbreaks had been on the second and fourth floors of the Union Terrace facility.
As flu season continues, hospital officials recommend that anyone planning a visit to a hospital while exhibiting symptoms of the flu stay home until they have been symptom-free for two days – and that while in the hospital, visitors should regularly wash and sanitize their hands.
