According to a release, 20 to 40 millimetres of rain fell into the already-saturated upper Grand River watershed Saturday night and into Sunday morning, causing river levels to rise.

Grand Valley and Drayton, which have already seen some localized flooding, are expected to experience even more as high flows move downstream.

The GRCA is also warning a rainy forecast for Monday morning could cause further flooding in West Montrose.

  • Flooding expected to continue in the Upper Grand River at Grand Valley through Sunday.
  • Flooding to continue in the Grand River in Waterloo Region through Monday morning.
  • Flood warning in place for West Montrose in Woolwich Township.
  • Warning issued for residents in the Level 1 flood zone in Drayton due to a swollen Conestogo River.
  • Flooding will persist in low-lying areas along the Grand, Conestogo, Nith and Speed rivers as runoff continues.
