Tommy Hughes’ family and friends say he was a happy person who always had a positive outlook on life.

The 33-year-old Kitchener man was killed early Saturday morning after his ATV crashed north of Mount Forest.

Hughes was riding on Southgate Sideroad 47, near Southgate Road 10, around 1 a.m. when his ATV went into a ditch and hit a tree.

Hughes was thrown from the ATV.

He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hughes’ family and friends travelled to the site of the crash on Sunday.

His friend Mick Gordan says he “was awoken with news you never expect. It was a pleasure to be a friend. R.I.P. Tommy Hughes.”
