Darren grew up in Waterloo Region, and started at CTV Southwestern Ontario in 2003. He is thrilled to work in his home community, anchoring the local sportscast at 11:30 and reporting for the 6:00 news.

Before joining CTV SWO, Darren spent time at TSN and the FAN 590 radio in Toronto. He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University's Communication Studies program and Humber College's Broadcast Journalism program.

While attending Humber College, he received the Sports Broadcast Journalism and TSN Best Award.

Darren has covered major local stories for CTV SWO, including the 2008 Memorial Cup in Kitchener, the 2005 Laurier Golden Hawks Vanier Cup Title and the Waterloo Warriors steroid controversy in 2010.
