Police in Brantford have identified the body of a Brantford man found dead behind a school on Wednesday.
It's still not clear if it's a homicide, but police are calling it suspicious.
On Thursday, police identified the victim as 35-year-old Gary Arruda of Brantford.
Police say there were signs of trauma to the body. An autopsy has been completed, but the cause of death is still under investigation.
Police have been protecting the scene since about 10:30 A.M. yesterday, when the body was discovered behind a former school.
Neighbours in the area say police rushed in Wednesday.
"Lots of cars, lots of police cars. Fire trucks, SWAT team and we just heard it was a male, about 35 years of age" says Sean Scottie.
Another resident, John Napholc says the grim discovery has been unnerving.
"Yeah, I'm a little concerned. Obviously with something happening so close to home, you know it's a residential neighbourhood. It seems the time I've been here the neighbours are nice and quiet. And there's a lot of kids in the area, so anything bad is obviously a concern."
