Hundreds of people packed The Aud in Kitchener for the "Celebrate Me Home" musical tribute. Canada's Governor General was in attendance and took part in the special commemoration.

Artist Dave Sopha created a mural honouring Canadian soldiers who have died in Afghanistan since 2002 . "Back in 2008 I seen the 100 had fallen in Afghanistan on the front of the paper and I felt compelled to do something for them".

An unveling that took two years to complete. Sopha spent 6000 hours creating the masterpiece. On it, the faces of 155 soldiers and front and centre is Myles Kennedy's son Kevin. "I can only stand in front of the mural for about 5 minutes because the impact is so strong".

The mural will be going to 100 different cities across the country. For more information, you can visit www.portraitsofhonour.ca
