CTV News has learned that another racoon infected with rabies has been discovered near Hamilton, bringing the total to five in the last week.
Authorities are scrambling to contain the spread of the deadly disease.
The ministry of natural resources has expanded its area where it drops rabies vaccine packets in light of the positive tests.
Officials want to prevent the disease from spreading to skunks, bats and of course humans.
It is believed the first racoon with rabies may have come to Ontario on a truck from the United States.
