Alcohol is considered a possible factor in a deadly collision west of Cambridge involving two pickup trucks.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday along Spragues Road at Shouldice Side Road, between Cambridge and Paris.
A 20-year-old Cambridge man was pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the passengers in his truck was taken to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition.
The second passenger and the North Dumfries resident driving the other truck were hospitalized with less severe injuries, and later released from hospital.
Off-duty firefighters and another bystander began removing them from their vehicles before paramedics and on-duty firefighters arrived, as one of the vehicles had caught on fire.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, the driver of one of the trucks failed to stop for a stop sign and crashed into the other truck, which was travelling along Spragues.
A post-mortem examination on the 20-year-old was expected to take place Thursday.
His name has not been released.
