An 18-month-old girl who wandered off while playing on a farm was later pronounced dead in hospital.
According to Huron County OPP, a group of siblings were playing outside on the North Huron farm Sunday evening, when the young girl wandered away and into a nearby barn.
The rest of the group eventually realized the girl had gone missing and began a search, which ended when they found her in a water trough inside the barn, unresponsive.
She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled.
Police continue to investigate.
