The Cambridge Humane Society is calling it a disgusting act of animal cruelty.
A wild rabbit was found with its hind legs cut off outside Blair Road Elementary School in Cambridge.
The gruesome discovery was made by a group of teenagers.
Tracy Laraway with the Humane Society says the rabbit was left there to die.
The rabbit had to be put down because of the severity of its injuries.
The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals says it’s offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information on the mutilation.
The news also upset a Cambridge resident who’s also offering a $150 reward.
The Humane Society says that when the person responsible is caught they will most likely face animal cruelty charges.
