A pair of head-on crashes in different parts of Kitchener kept emergency responders busy Friday morning.

The first crash occurred shortly before 7 a.m. at King and Union streets.

One driver allegedly drove through the intersection against a red light and crashed into a bakery delivery truck.

The force of the crash sent both vehicles spinning, with the delivery van ending up on a snowbank, but no serious injuries were reported.

About 90 minutes later, crews responded to a three-vehicle collision at Fischer-Hallman Road and Queen’s Boulevard.

Again, one vehicle ended up on a snowbank and sidewalk.

The extent of any injuries sustained in that crash is unknown.

Information on what charges will be laid, if any, was not immediately available.
