A Waterloo man is charged with sexual assault following an incident in a taxicab.

The 34-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with the alleged attack, which Waterloo Regional Police say occurred in June.

Police say the man is a taxi driver and was transporting the female victim at the time.

According to police, the assault occurred on Adelaide Street, near Victoria Street and Belmont Avenue in Kitchener.

The victim did not require medical treatment, police say.

UPDATE: The man arrested in connection with this case was later found not guilty of sexual assault.
