MILTON, Ont. - Halton regional police say they seized almost 70 kilograms of marijuana in a recent drug trafficking investigation.

The drug, gun and gang unit says a three-month investigation uncovered information that led to five raids in Milton, Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga last week.

Police say they were targeting two individuals who were allegedly trafficking large amounts of marijuana in and around the regions of Halton and Peel.

Twenty-nine-year-old Julian Domenico Porretta from Milton was arrested June 25 and is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jason Matthew Amaral from Mississauga was arrested June 26 and is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of unauthorized possession of weapons.

Two cars, three prohibited weapons and cash were also seized during the raids.
