A pair of former Kitchener Rangers have joined local university teams in Waterloo.  Forward Derek Schoenmakers is re-joining the Laurier Golden Hawks for the upcoming season.  The 21-year old played 2 games for the Hawks last January, before heading back to the OHL to finish his career with the Kitchener Rangers.  Schoenmakers played 29 games in Kitchener, scoring 8 goals.

Ryan Hanes is the newest member of the Waterloo Warriors blueline.  He comes to the Warriors after playing 9 games with the Kitchener Rangers last season.  Hanes spent the majority of his OHL career in the Eastern Conference, playing for Ottawa, Kingston and Sudbury.  The university hockey season begins in October.
