Seven people were taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash north of Wiarton.

Bruce Peninsula OPP say the crash happened around 5 p.m. Sunday, on Highway 6 south of Mar Side Road.

According to police, a grey passenger vehicle crossed over to the wrong side of the highway and collided with a livestock trailer being towed by a pickup truck.

In the aftermath of that crash, the passenger vehicle then collided with a third vehicle.

The driver of the first passenger vehicle, a 47-year-old Newmarket resident, was charged with careless driving.

Information on the conditions of the seven people sent to hospital was not provided.
