One man is dead and another in custody following an altercation in Cambridge – and neighbours say the two are brothers.

Late Sunday night, police responded to a building on Hilltop Drive for what had been reported as an assault.

“Upon arriving there, they identified a male with serious injuries,” said Waterloo Regional Police Staff. Sgt. Mike Haffner.

“Life-saving measures were attempted, however the male succumbed to his injuries at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.”

Monday, the man was identified as 61-year-old Ronald William Victor Domonsky.

Lynn MacLean, who police say lives with Domonsky and was found a short distance away, was charged with second-degree murder.

Neighbours tell CTV News the two men are brothers.

One said there was “quite a bit of fighting” in their unit Sunday night, and one neighbour had asked the men to turn down their music.

Police say they do not expect to make further arrests and have no concerns for public safety.
