A Waterloo manufacturing plant was evacuated Friday after a former worker allegedly entered the building and starting pouring gasoline.

Derek Willocks, an employee at Onward Manufacturing on Kumpf Drive, says a female employee was fired from the plant Thursday, and returned later in the day with dirt that she put on her boss’s desk.

“She went into the cafeteria and turned over the picnic tables,” he says.

According to Willocks, the woman visited the plant again Friday, this time with a gas can in tow.

Waterloo Regional Police responded and took one person into custody, but it is not known if charges were laid.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
