Two people were seen running away from a car fire in Cambridge, Waterloo Regional Police say.

Firefighters and police were called to the fire site – a parking lot at Blair Road and Grand Avenue – around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.

They arrived to find the car engulfed in flames, which were quickly extinguished.

The vehicle was found to have been reported stolen last week.

People in the area told police that the saw two men running away from the car.

One was described as being tall, skinny and wearing a purple hoodie, while the other was said to be shorter, stockier and wearing a dark green hoodie.

Anyone with information is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers.
