Easter Weekend is prompting a number of facilities and services in Waterloo Region and Guelph to close or run reduced hours. Here are some of the highlights.

Shopping

Fairview Park Mall, Conestoga Mall, Cambridge Centre and Stone Road Mall are closed Friday and Sunday, but open normal hours Saturday and Monday.

Major grocery stores are closed Friday, open regular hours Saturday, closed Sunday and returning to normal Monday.

Some pharmacies will remain open through the weekend; others will close Friday and/or Sunday. Check with your local outlet for details.

LCBO stores are closed Friday, open Saturday and closed Sunday. Some stores are also closed Monday.

The Beer Store locations are operating on a Friday schedule for Thursday, then closed Friday, open Saturday and closed Sunday.

Waterloo Region

Grand River Transit buses will run on a Sunday service schedule both Friday and Sunday. All routes except for high school special runs will operate normally on Monday.

Waste pickup services and the Region of Waterloo International Airport will run under normal schedules.

Region-run libraries will be closed Friday, operate as normal Saturday, and be closed as normal on Sunday and Monday.

Regional administrative officers will be closed Friday and Monday.

Cambridge

Municipal offices and arenas are closed both Friday and Monday.

The Cambridge Farmers Market will be open Saturday as per usual.

Library branches will be closed Friday, open Saturday, closed Sunday and open Monday.

Kitchener

Kitchener City Hall will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., but offices inside will be closed Friday through Monday.

All Kitchener Public Library branches, as well as city-run pools and the Kitchener Market will be closed Friday, open Saturday, closed Sunday and closed Monday.

Sportsworld Arena and the Activa Sportsplex are open for ice rentals all weekend. Other city arenas are closed Friday and Sunday.

Waterloo

All city facilities are closed Friday.

Most facilities are closed Monday – exceptions include the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Centre, Albert McCormick Community Centre (for rentals only, after 4 p.m.), and the Adult Recreation Centre (open for bridge from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

Waterloo Public Library branches are open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and closed Friday, Sunday and Monday.

Guelph

Guelph Transit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule Friday, then run regular schedules through the rest of the weekend.

City Hall, Exhibition Arena, McCrae House and administrative offices will close from Friday through to Monday, reopening Tuesday.

The Guelph Farmers Market is open Saturday morning.

Pools and community centres are open select hours through the weekend.
