A Waterloo woman, and mother of seven, is now $5 million richer after winning the Instant Mega jackpot.

“I scanned my ticket using the OLG app on my phone. I was certainly surprised when I saw that I’d won the top prize,” Sarah Nellis said while picking up her cheque in Toronto. “I shared the good news with my mom and my kids by sending them a screenshot of the winning message and asking them to check their phones. Everyone was shocked!”

She plans on buying an accessible home for her family but, in the meantime, is craving a Reuben sandwich from The Daily Grill in Waterloo.

Nellis said the jackpot couldn’t have come at a better time.

“This win comes with sense of relief. It truly feels like a Christmas miracle.”

Nellis’ winning ticket was purchased at the 7 Days Mini Mart on Phillip Street in Waterloo.
