Waterloo Regional Police are on the hunt for a man wanted in connection with last night’s hammer attack on Talbot Street in Kitchener.
A search warrant has been issued for Mike Fortune, 18, who is wanted for aggravated assault, breach of probation and forcible confinement.
Police say a woman and her teen daughter were attacked by Fortune who is known to them. Both were taken to hospital and treated serious injuries.
Fortune fled the scene before police arrived and has been on the run ever since.
Man hunt has lead them to Notre Dame Drive and Carmel Koch Road area of Wilmot Township.
Fortune is described as a black man, heavy build, about six-foot, three inches tall, 230 pounds, with black hair and brown hair.
He is believed to be wearing black pants, black shirt and black jacket and may not be wearing shoes.
Fortune is considered armed and dangerous, they are warning residents not to approach him, but to call 9-1-1.
