A small airplane became tangled in hydro wires while landing in the Town of Minto on Thursday afternoon.

It happened around 3 p.m. on 8th Line near County Road 6, just east of Harriston.

Officials say two people were in the plane when they attempted to make an emergency landing.

“While trying to make the attempt, the one wing clipped a stop sign along with a hydro pole, causing the plane to overturn,” said Const. Bob Bortolato.

The occupants were a 57-year-old-man and his 24-year-old son, both in Canada on vacation from the Netherlands.

Transport Canada records show the plane to be a Beechcraft C35 registered to an address in the Netherlands.

They were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Transport Canada is investigating.
