A man has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash in East Zorra - Tavistock Township.
Oxford OPP say a car rear-ended a tractor towing a grain bin on Highway 59 between Maplewood Sideroad and Oxford Road 34, Friday night around 6 p.m.
Investigators say the car then spun out, and was hit head-on by a Dodge pickup truck.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while a five-year-old boy who was a passenger in the car was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Police have identfied the deceased as 40-year-old Scott Draper of Wellesley.
Passing vehicles stopped at the scene and tried to help; one of them was a trained medical professional, according to police.
“You can imagine, three vehicles involved there’s going to be lots of people helping out in that kind of situation,” said Culbert.
The woman driving the pickup was also treated for non life-threatening injuries, and the tractor driver was not hurt.
Police say it appears the tractor had proper lighting and yield signs.
“All indications right now say the driver of the tractor was where he was supposed to be on the highway,” said Const. Stacey Culbert, of the Oxford County OPP.
Highway 59 was closed for more than six hours.
